Concrete Silo Foundations – Oxbow Calcining

Project Highlights

  • Worked in close proximity to active conveyor
  • Finished ahead of schedule

Project Overview

The work on this project consisted of removal of pavement and installation of several sets of spot footings and pavement for foundations of material handling towers as well as construction of a mat slab foundation and pedestal style foundations for the new silos. Two sets of footings were located inside an existing building and special care had to be taken during construction as to not disturb the active conveyor immediately next to this work. All areas that were removed required all new pavement. This project had a very tight schedule with 12 weeks of work that needed to be finished in time for crews to be available for another project. Two Wildcat crews worked together and completed the job ahead of schedule. After the job was completed, the general contractor, Wolf Point Engineers, called us back to complete more work for elevated concrete slabs at the plant.
